Compact Footprint

The machine is built on a compact 9’x6’ machine base, with a single turret, saving valuable floor space.

Machine Platform

  • The production process is powered by individual Bosch® servo motors for each station—providing added efficiency and flexibility during operations as opposed to a traditional mechanical motor.
  • This is the same servo platform also used for the innovative PL 300 two-piece lid machine.
  • Remote VPN connection for service and troubleshooting along with PMC’s industry-leading support ensure that your machine runs efficiently and receives the tooling and attention it needs.

Infeed Options

  • Roll stock is registered and fed through the registration system.
  • Supports both offset and flexo-printed material for enhanced graphic quality.

Embossing and Finishing Options

  • Embossing options can be added to give lids a unique and custom look based on the needs of your branding and promotional runs.
  • Snap-and-lock feature ensures a secure fit to cups and containers.
  • Tooling can incorporate openings for both drinking and the placement of straws as a solution for fast food and to-go beverage cups.
  • Optimizes to support printed material.

Disc Maker

  • Registration mark on the single roll is read and hole is punched from the roll-stock to begin forming process and ensures that forming accurately creates the disk in line with printed graphics.
  • Utilizes the same punch and draw technology as bottom makers used on our industry-leading paper cup and container forming equipment.
  • Produces lids from 2.5 in. (63.5 mm) – 6.5 in. (165.1 mm) in diameter and 0.349 in. (10 mm) – 0.55 in. (14 mm) in height.

Heat, Incurl, and Finishing Stations

  • Sidewall pre-heat station prepares disc to receive edge embossing.
  • Radial embossing station forms nestable edges for the top of the lid making it easy for stacking and storage.
  • Incurl station forms the inner edge of the lid, ensuring that a secure seal is made with containers.
  • Finish station achieves the final aesthetic look and prepares lids for discharging.

Lid Discharge

Conveyor system will expel lids from the machine, hitting a bar and flipping right side up prior to being placed on the conveyor.

HMI Control Panel

Complete control of the production process, temperature, and air pressure settings through a fully integrated PLC control panel.
